This portfolio was created to explore scale, perception, and the relationship between science and visual storytelling. Through extreme macro photography, I aim to reveal details that exist beyond normal human perception, inviting viewers to reconsider the complexity and beauty of the natural world.
My process combines technical precision with a portrait based approach. Lighting is treated as an emotional and narrative tool rather than purely a means of illumination. Each insect is photographed with the same care and intention as a human subject, allowing texture, form, and color to communicate character and presence.
At its core, this work is about slowing down. By magnifying what is small and often ignored, the portfolio encourages observation, curiosity, and respect for life at every scale.
My practice is grounded in a personal code of ethics shaped by years of documentary work, where accuracy and respect were non negotiable. Insects are photographed responsibly and without harm, and they are presented with scientific integrity.
Post production enhances clarity and detail but does not alter biological structure or misrepresent the subject. The goal is not spectacle, but honest engagement.
